Michael Klarfeld – a.k.a. “klaradox” – is an artist and teacher from Dresden, Germany. He is best known for his fantasy maps of George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series, but he does more than that.
Michael draws, paints, makes movies, builds miniature dioramas and 3D paper worlds.

His work blends meticulous detail with a sense of wonder, inviting viewers to step into imaginary realms as if they were real places. Beyond fantasy, he enjoys experimenting with different media and techniques, always looking for new ways to tell stories through visuals. When he’s not creating, Michael shares his passion for art with students, inspiring them to explore their own creativity.
